New York Cannabis Distributor License New York lawmakers created an adult-use distributor license for those interested in starting a cannabis business to get in the industry. After Bill S854 was presented New York is on its way to becoming one of the sixteenth states…
The adult-use cannabis processor license is one of the several licenses added in the proposed new cannabis legislation coming to New York.
The proposed “Marihuana Regulation and Taxation Act” contains provisions for several different adult-use licenses. If you want to read about how to apply for one of these licenses, you should check out our “New York Cannabis License Application” post about it.
This post will be focused on the adult-use processor license which will allow processing cannabis in the state of New York under the regulations established by the Act.
What’s the adult-use processor license
The adult-use processor license is a legal document that authorizes the acquisition, possession, processing, and sale of cannabis from the licensed premises of the adult-use cultivator by such licensee to duly licensed distributors in the state of New York.
According to the Act, processing includes but is not limited to the following practices:
- Making or preparing cannabis products in any way
The Act expressly excludes the cultivation of cannabis as part of the definition of “processing”.
Pursuant to section 69.3 of the Act, no processor shall be engaged in any other business on the premises to be licensed; except that nothing contained in this chapter shall prevent a cannabis cultivator and cannabis processor, from operating on the same premises and from a person holding both licenses.
No cannabis processor licensee may hold more than three cannabis processor licenses. Further, a person holding an adult-use processor’s license may not hold a license to distribute cannabis under the Act.
As well as in the adult-use cultivator license, the adult-use processor’s licensee can’t have a direct or indirect interest, including by stock ownership, interlocking directors, mortgage or lien, personal or real property, or any other means, in any premises licensed as an adult-use cannabis retail dispensary or in any business licensed as an adult-use cannabis retail dispensary or in any registered organization registered pursuant to article three, § 34 of the Act.

Balance your immune system with CBD oil
Having a healthy immune system is so important. The feeling of constantly being sick or feeling under the weather can just get so exhausting! Did you know that when you are stressed your immune system becomes suppressed, making you more susceptible to the flu? At a time where stress levels are high (thanks COVID), we are all striving to keep our immune systems boosted. So, how can CBD oil help boost your immune system?
Studies have shown that endocannabinoids control your immune function and play an important role in maintaining balance. Your endocannabinoid system works to maintain balance in your body. It sends signals through your body when a part is not functioning optimally, allowing your body to respond to the potential danger signal and take the steps necessary to bring your body back in balance.
One of the two main receptors used by the endocannabinoid system are your CB2 receptors. These CB2 receptors are found in your immune system. They play a role in helping to moderate inflammation and are involved in how your body responds to unwanted germs. These receptors help regulate the effectiveness of your immune response. They assist in assessing the threat, they then communicate where your body needs to boost its defenses and indicates how strong the defenses must be.
How CBD boosts your immune system
Research shows that cannabis oil has immunomodulating effects. This means that cannabis oil can actively boost your immune system when you are feeling run down, as well as suppressing your immune system when it becomes overactive. When you are stressed your body produces the stress hormone, Cortisol. Cortisol plays a role in suppressing your immune system by reducing your lymphocyte count. Lymphocytes are our white blood cells that help fight off infection. In other words, the lower your lymphocyte level, the less effective your immune system is. CBD oil is known to assist with your body’s ability to cope with stress and has been shown to boost a weakened immune system, therefore helping to defend your body against infection and illness.
Cannabis oil can actively boost your immune system when you are feeling run down, as well as suppressing your immune system when it becomes overactive.
How does CBD help with an overactive immune system?
If you suffer from an autoimmune disease such as psoriasis or Crohn’s disease, your immune system is overactive and it mistakes your healthy cells for foreign cells. In this case you want your immune system to slow down so it stops attacking your healthy cells.
Your immune system cells use communication molecules called cytokines to regulate your immune system’s response. When your immune system picks up on a threat, your cytokines send a message to activate your body’s innate immunity for immediate protection from the threat. In the case of an auto-immune disease, your body mistakes your healthy cells as a threat.
What does CBD oil do in this case?
CBD binds to your body’s cytokines where it reduced the number of messages sent out to your immune system for help. This decreases the production of fighter cells your immune system produces in response to the threat. Slowing down your immune system’s mistaken attack on your healthy cells.
Many of the over the counter medications that assist with autoimmune conditions, are synthetic and function only to suppress your immune system, which could leave you more vulnerable to infections.
Studies show that CBD manages these autoimmune conditions by only suppressing specific parts of the immune system. These effects are also not permanent, which means that when it needs to, your body can overcome the suppression effect of CBD to ramp your immune system back up if a new threat is detected.

Just in time for St.Patrick’s Day, let’s get shaking in the kitchen and make
Boozy Shamrock Shake with Cannabis Milk.
While some of us around the world may be able to partake in a little social activity, the chances of many are slim to none.
In light of that, let’s make the most of it and enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day at home.
March 17th falls on a Wednesday this year, and to celebrate you should probably know the history right?
It’s believed that St. Patrick’s Day started in 1631 when the Christian Church established a Feast Day honoring St.Patrick. He had been the patron saint of Ireland, and died in the 5th century.
His apparent death on March 17th remained a celebration day for years and is now enjoyed in a much different way – green beer, lots of fun, dancing and more!
How Do I Make Cannabis Milk?
THC: 700mg THC
Decarboxylate your weed by spreading your cannabis evenly on an oven tray And coat with aluminum foil.
Place in the oven on 240F/115C for 40 minutes, and then let it cool.
Grind your cannabis or chop it fine
Place 4 cups of whole milk in a pan on low heat. Add cannabis and let simmer on low heat for 60/90 minutes without it ever coming to a boil.
Strain through a cheesecloth
Let it cool

Truly, Saint Patrick’s day is one of those holidays that is so much fun for everyone.
With all things green, kisses for the Irish, and that annoying (or fun) tradition of pinching people, you can really get green this year – but the right way! With weed!
This year is for the grown-ups looking for something festive.
Here’s a boozy twist on the traditional shamrock shake.
It’s the perfect pot-treat to celebrate!
