The concentrated liquid that extracted from the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa is term as cannabis oil . This oil is similar to other herbal extracts. Thousands of compounds are produced by cannabis plants while the ever well-familiar compound belongs to a category termed as cannabinoids.

These two are most familiar to consumers named as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) among several cannabinoid compounds.

According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) Controlled Substances Act, CBD products are legally allowed to sell and consume because they don’t have THC compound.

That is the main reason for what  CBD products and CBD oil, are becoming demanding by consumers.

CBD’s importance in preventing anxiety

CBD oil works like other herbal extracts. It efficiently works in anxiety disorder i.e. panic attacks, headaches, muscle stiffness and many more. CBD oil has a dramatic, intrusive effect to cure anxiety and it efficiently helps the moment.

How people can prevent from anxiety issues by using CBD oil?

CBD oil gives the chance to people to reduce anxiety, regular sleep, eliminate pain, and treat a whole host of other disorders.

CBD oil directly affects CB1 receptors, to keep the CB1 receptor in the system for long time CBD oil stop the enzymatic breakdown of anandamide (Leweke et al., 2012).

As CB1 receptor CBD has little effect on the CB2 receptors to maintain the release of cytokines from human immune cells in a specific manner.

Effect of CBD oil on both receptors help to reduce inflammation, pain and regulate normal functioning. CBD also regulate stimulation of vanilloid pain receptors (TRPV-1 receptor), that are essential for the regulation of pain perception, inflammation, body temperature, cardiovascular function and create  a broad spectrum anti-inflammatory effect in throughout the body (MA. Lee 2011 ).

There is a considerable number of published articles having chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and clinical effects of CBD and CBD oil since 1940 proves the importance of CBD oil (Zhornitsky and Potvin, 2012). CBD oil is playing an important role in the treatment of different disorders, especially anxiety and anxiety disorders i.e. reducing nausea and vomiting, combating psychotic disorders, reducing inflammation, depression, improving sleep, and increasing senses.

It is proved in the literature (Zuardi, 2008; Zuardi et al., 2006).

Although studies have claimed that CBD oil gives a relaxing effect on the body and reduce anxiety with other great benefits and get rid from traditional remedies and medication (Machado Bergamaschi et al., 2011).

What am I feeling on CBD?

Republished by Plato

Long story short, I am trying CBD again after a traumatic experience with THC cannabis years ago.

My issue, when I try CBD flower is if anything feels familiar about the effects, I start to freak out that I am going to have a bad trip again.

With that said, I need your help navigating through my though process when I smoke CBD and ways that I can ease my mind about what I am experiencing and relax when I feel those effects knowing they are safe and no indication I am going to trip like I do on thc.

  1. Body feels like i just put on a sweater. That is the only way I can describe it. Not like I feel warm or anything. It’s more like I can feel the muscles in my shoulders, chest and arms. When I smoke cbd this is one of the first effects I get and it trips me out because I worry that what i am feeling is my muscles tightening due to an anxiety response from the trace amounts of thc. So I never know if I am feeling a good effect of the cbd muscle relaxing properties or the anxiety induced muscle tightening from the thc.

  2. Feeling spacey. I notice if I smoke enough CBD flower, I will get a little absent minded. I don’t have thoughts racing through my head but I almost get that fogginess and forgetfulness that I used to get with thc flower. It’s way more subtle with CBD but it’s enough that I start to psych myself out that I am about to trip the same way I do when I smoked thc flower.

  3. Altered first person view. I couldn’t really give it a better name. It sounds trippier than what I really mean, I promise. When I would smoke thc flower I noticed that the way things looked would change. Not in any sort of extreme way, maybe colors where a bit more vibrant or things seemed to be a bit cloudy. They way I described it back then was like wearing an astronaught helmet. It just always seem like you were looking at the world from behind a glass screen. Not literally but that’s the best I can explain it. You never really felt present. You felt more inside of yourself, looking out from the inside than actually being part of the moment. I used to love that feeling. Well with CBD I certainly don’t get anywhere near that feeling but I do notice a small shift in my first person view. So it makes me freakout thinking I might be tripping on the THC and will have a bad trip like those time.

  4. Last one is more my fault but i’ll list it here anyway. I will question my thoughts when I’ve smoked CBD. Any thought that is mildly complex immedietly gets question as “was that a high thought?” “if it was then we might be too high and am going to start spiraling”. I do it for damn near any thought. It also happens if I read something that is just a bit worry some, i’ll start to trip out thinking that I’m possibly experiencing that thc effect where it makes things feel more impactful and serious than they really are.

All of these things contribute to me experiencing anxiety when I smoke CBD. If I am being objective, what I experience on CBD, though familiar, isn’t perfectly controllable if I can just learn that not every change in my mental states or experience on CBD means I am high off of thc. I just have a fear that smoking is gonna flip a switch in my brain and make me schizophrenic like my uncle was (not to overshare). I fear that maybe there is enough thc in these things to cause that trigger to happen and what I am experiencing on CBD is an indication that i am tripping on thc while will lead me to going crazy.

I hope you all have some advice for me on how to navigate these thoughts and realize that I am okay and it’s nothing like thc.
